Hello everyone! I know this is getting out to you late, and I apologize for that. I’ve had a lot going on outside of fantasy football, and though I was trying my best to power through on Thursday night (as I write this Friday evening), I just couldn’t do it. My eyes were heavy, and the time change has not been kind to my sleep schedule! It also didn’t help that I gathered little energy from that Thursday Night Travesty…I mean Football.

The Raiders and Broncos forgot how to operate an offense aside from about three good drives, aka the only scoring drives of the game. Even the special teams were awful with the missed field goals and bad punts. How is one supposed to be energized and stay motivated to write about football when having to watch that? The temptation to turn off the game was immense. And frankly, even though it was on in front of my face, I was focusing on my writing for a large portion of the game because I had no reason to watch it!

Rant over. I promise. Anyway, thank you for spending your time reading this newsletter. I’m incredibly grateful that people actually want to read what I have to say. It’s amazing, and I just want to say thank you. Now let’s get to it.

📼 Week 9 Rewind and Stats to Know

  • He’s only run a few dozen routes this season, but Adonai Mitchell has a 2.38 YPRR this season. It’s hard to see him not being the Jets’ WR2 this Sunday.

  • 🐯 Cincinnati is on bye this week, but unless a team allows 7 touchdowns to the TE position on Sunday, they will still have allowed a league-leading 12 TD to tight ends this season.

  • Speaking of the Bengals, Ja’Marr Chase has 50 targets in the last three weeks. FIFTY TARGETS. The next closest receiver, Ladd McConkey, has 31. 🟠

  • 🐴 Alec Pierce is averaging more PPG than Jameson Williams in 2025.

Week 10 Preview

Last week, I mentioned Kimani Vidal was in a smash spot. I didn’t mean that it was to smash any chance you had at winning. But, he’s bounced back from each bad performance this week, so boom game incoming? Drake Maye was fine against a Falcons team that did their best to bounce back from a loss against Miami. Ashton Jeanty was the RB5, taking advantage of the Jaguars’ inability to cover receiving backs. Alvin Kamara predictably struggled. And I can never get DK Metcalf right. His usage, efficiency, and consistency annoy me to death with their whackiness. When to start him and when to sit him is incredibly hard to nail down.

  • 🔵 Rashid Shaheed has made his hay as a deep ball specialist and now gets to play with Sam Darnold, who has the highest deep ball completion percentage this season. Is that sticky year over year? Unlikely. But are we going to take advantage of it while it lasts? 100%.

  • 🐆 According to Ourlads, Jakobi Meyers projects to be the Jaguars’ slot receiver with Parker Washington on the outside. Meyers can play on the outside if needed, and likely will have to, given the Jags’ lack of depth. The problem is he has to face Houston this week, who are giving up the second-fewest points to slot receivers. Even if Meyers plays on the outside, he still has to deal with Derek Stingley.

  • 🐻 Whether it’s D’Andre Swift or Kyle Monangai this week (and Swift may not play, something to monitor), I like them against the Giants, who are giving up 0.85 points per rush. What’s more is Chicago has been extremely good at running the ball and is averaging the third-most rushing attempts per game. Volume + opportunity = points.

  • It’s a bit gross, but Dalton Schultz might be a decent streaming option this week for those in need. Jacksonville gives up the second-most points to the tight end position. He caught five passes for 39 yards against them earlier this year. 🐮

  • Rico Dowdle has the third most rushing yards in the NFL, something I did not see coming. He’s also second in rush yards over expected per attempt, again, something I didn’t see coming. New Orleans has actually been fine against the run on a per-rush basis, but they’ve just been run on so much that backs have gotten there fairly easily via volume. 🐈‍⬛

  • 🔵 Jaxson Dart is the QB5 in PPG since he took over the starting job, and that’s without having Malik Nabers. Even with the loss of Cam Skattebo, he still produced against San Francisco and now gets the Bears who gave up 42 points to the Bengals last week. Does he have Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins to throw to? No. But he still has some capable pass catchers in Wan’Dale Robinson, Darius Slayton, and Theo Johnson.

  • 🔴 Trey McBride has four touchdowns in three games with Jacoby Brissett at QB. In those three games, he leads all TEs in redzone targets with 11. Seattle hasn’t given up many touchdowns to TEs, but they’re a decent matchup. Just for fun, McBride’s season total of 16 RZ targets is first among TEs. His 11 targets in the weeks with Brissett would rank fifth.

  • While we are on tight ends, in case you needed another reason to start Oronde Gadsden, the Steelers are the third-best matchup for TEs this season.

  • Going back to Brissett, he gets a tough matchup this week against Seattle. The Seahawks are at home and have given up 11 TD to 9 INT this season, to go along with the third most sacks. We know Brissett is solid, and he’s worth a shot in superflex leagues, but I wouldn’t pick him as a 1QB streaming option this Sunday. 🐦

  • 🟠 Only David Montgomery has faced more stacked boxes than Quinshon Judkins. Even so, Judkins is still averaging 4.1 YPC and is top ten in yards after contact and RYOE. Against the Jets who just lost their best pass rusher, I think he’s a good start.

  • Since Week 7, 49ers WRs have combined for 5 redzone targets. Jauan Jennings has four of them. He’s had a 24% target share in that time, trailing only Christian McCaffrey in targets, a trend that continues from when I mentioned it last week. He will be needed against the Rams.

  • 🧀 It’s not going to be easy against Philly, but I like Romeo Doubs. For years now, I’ve pretty much stayed away from Green Bay receivers until Jayden Reed came along and I forgot about Doubs. But Doubs has been good this season and is the WR28 in PPG. Green Bay has been playing up or down to their opponent, so I would hope that this puts Doubs in a good script. He’s not scored since the Packers’ bye week, but he’s averaging over 8 targets per game since then, so the volume is there. The scoring will come.

  • Carolina is tied for sixth in receptions allowed to running backs, which would usually be a positive thing for Alvin Kamara. And while it is, Kamara has not played well as of late. Tyler Shough also didn’t really go to him much in his first start, but with Shaheed gone and usable fantasy running backs being thin, you might have to start him. Just be ready for pain and don’t watch the game.

  • 🌊 Streaming QBs this week is tough unless you have Sam Darnold on the waiver wire. The best matchups are either on bye (Dallas and Cincinnati), or are taken by QBs already on rosters (Josh Allen vs Miami, for example). Or, it’s Dillon Gabriel vs the weakened Jets, and who’s streaming Gabriel?! But let me make the case for Davis Mills. He’s a veteran starting experience, Jacksonville is the sixth-best matchup for QBs, and he has a full complement of weapons to throw to. It’s gross, but there’s not much out there this week. 🐮

  • One more QB recommendation: J.J. McCarthy. Baltimore hasn’t been great at rushing the QB, putting up the third-lowest pressure rate and the third-fewest sacks in 2025. They also have only three picks this season. McCarthy is at home, and he has the weapons to produce. Yes, he still has a way to go as a passer, but he’s also three starts into his NFL career. Let’s give him a chance. Interesting note: his two good performances have come in away games. He is at home this week. 🟣

I had Sam Darnold and Jaxson Dart here last time back in Week 8, and Dart is finally rostered to the point I can’t include him here. Darnold is right around the cutoff, but make sure he’s available. It’s high time to shake off our priors on him if you were still holding onto them. This goes back to before Week 8, but Josh Downs has been the WR15 in PPG since Week 6, although greatly helped by TDs. Alec Pierce was featured then and down below, and he’s coming off his best game of the season. AJ Barner had a rushing TD in Week 9, and Theo Johnson has been his usual self.

Our Preemptive Pickups of the Week:

  • QB: Sam Darnold (ARI, LAR, TEN, MIN), Aaron Rodgers (LAC, CIN, CHI)

  • RB: Blake Corum & Tyler Allgeier handcuffs, Devin Singletary (CHI, GB, DET)

  • WR: Kyle Williams (TB, NYJ, CIN), Alec Pierce (ATL, BYE, KC, HOU)

  • TE: Theo Johnson (CHI, GB, DET), Noah Fant (BYE, PIT, NE, BAL)

Kyle Williams has done next to nothing so far this season, but he could get a chance to make a name for himself this weekend with Kayshon Boutte out. His college tape showed he had a great release and knew how to create space. Let’s just see if he capitalizes. Pierce has been sneaky underrated this season.

That’s going to do it for today. Thanks for stopping by, I will see you guys next week. Best of luck!
